Oh my goodness, Claire is the big 1!!! I can't believe it! This year has flown by and I have a feeling the more children we have, the more time will seemingly slip through our fingertips. It's hard to believe that Claire hasn't been here from the beginning, I forget that we used to be a family of 3 or even a family of 2 at some point. She is such a blessing and it brings me great joy, as silly as it sounds, to now have pink and purple sippy cups floating around our house, and tea sets, and hair bows galore. I love how much Ethan is learning just from having Claire around, besides learning to share and being gentle with his little sister, he's learning about princesses and princes, tea parties, and purses. It's very sweet and nice to feel a sense of...well, balance. This year has been one of hugs, kisses, milestones, and lots of learning by all of us; a year we've cherished and documented in pictures and baby books, and we're sad to see it's over. Happy Birthday Princess Claire Bear. Here's to another year full of laughs, smiles, hugs, and kisses.
Claire's Cinderella Party
For Claire's Cinderella Party, Justin and I teamed up to make her a glass slipper smash cake. We had a ton of fun making it while our children were napping (what an amazing dad. i don't think i know any other dad that would help their wife make a cheesey birthday cake). It was just a white cake and then we made marshmallow fondant to make the design. We also made Princess Wands from Pretzel Rods and planned a few games for our guests like "Princess Pop Quiz" and "Guess how many Candy Necklace" games. We are so grateful for those that made the trek to celebrate with us. It really does mean a lot to us. So thanks for sacrificing your time on a Saturday to wear princess crowns, play princess games, and even watch a little Cinderella 3.
It's my Party and I'll cry if I want to
Claire was a major grump all day, but as soon as quests started arriving, she seemed to forget her worries and ham it up.

Toddlers and Tiaras
Well, it's not a Cinderella party without tiaras.
Of course only the ladies got to wear tiaras, but the boys didn't seem to mind. They just played balloons and I'm pretty sure they popped every single Cinderella balloon on our dried-out, sharp Christmas tree that is still up in our living room...maybe we'll get that down tomorrow.
